In the capital, opened news agency "Center for Development of agro-and eco-tourism", which will provide support to companies that develop tourism in rural areas. The center was created Belarusian public association "Holidays in the Country" with the support of the OSCE Office in Minsk in the framework of the "Agroekoturistichesky Business Incubator as a tool for sustainable development in rural areas of Belarus."

The main objectives of the center will be counseling, organization of trainings and workshops for beginners travel companies in the development of tourist industry in rural areas. Also, the center will provide services to eco-certification standards, and estates.

December 7 at a seminar on the opening of the center, the chairman of BOO "Rest in the village," said Valeria Klitsunova that now demanded it stay in the rural estates, there is consumer interest in eco-tourism services.

According to her, at the time of the association "Holidays in the Country" in 2002, the main problems in the field of eco-tourism were: The lack of legal framework, the absence of concessional lending and informational materials relating to the scope of "green" holiday. Today, the "problem focus has shifted to the creation of a national rural tourism based on the traditions of the Belarusian" said Klitsunova.

Chairman of the association believes that useful for the development of eco-tourism could be worked by the use of green routes. To meet all the needs of potential tourists, a variety of useful organizations interact with each other - this is the essence of the method of cluster development of tourism, she said.

As said Klitsunova, currently 17 objects of the intangible heritage of Belarus awaiting inclusion in the UNESCO list. Among them - wedding ceremonies and kolyadnye, whose presence in the list of World Heritage sites can also attract the attention of lovers of rural recreation.

Ambassador of Israel to Belarus Eduard Shapira, who was present at the seminar suggested that the Israeli side will be ready to assist Belarus in coordinating the development of rural tourism.
